Paul McCartney Toasted John Lennon At His Wedding Receptionby Staff

Sir Paul McCartney honoured his late pal John Lennon in more ways than one on Sunday (09Oct11) - he toasted the Beatle at his wedding reception.
The singer exchanged vows with American heiress Nancy Shevell on the same day Lennon would have celebrated his 71st birthday and McCartney paid tribute to his former bandmate by taking a moment out of the happy festivities to dedicate a speech to the star.
Shevell's cousin, newswoman Barbara Walters, attended the nuptials at the weekend (08-09Oct11), and upon returning to her hosting duties at U.S. chat show The View on Monday (11Oct11), she said, "There was a party later on in the tent at Paul's house, (it's a) beautiful backyard. There was a toast that Paul made to John Lennon, his 71st birthday it was, and Paul's son James made a toast and Nancy's son (did too)."
And the event's atmosphere was kept extremely casual, with the bride and groom even changing into jeans to enjoy the party.
She added, "And she (Shevell) wore, by the way, a long sort of plum colored chiffon dress. And then they went upstairs and put on jeans and T-shirts." (c) WENN
