Comic illustrator to appear in Watchung

Guitar signed by Beatle, among items of interest at benefit

WATCHUNG – Spider Man comic illustrator John Stanisci will appear, and a guitar autographed by Beatle Paul McCartney and a drum cover autographed by the Rolling Stones will be among the items auctioned,  on Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Art Auction on Saturday, Oct. 1,  at the Mount Saint Mary Academy, Terrill Road at Route 22 West.
A preview of the artwork will begin at 7 p.m. and the auction will start at 8 p.m. 
The auction is sponsored by the Mount Saint Mary Academy Alumnae Association.  Proceeds from the auction will support the Sister Mary Alphonsus, RSM ’39 Scholarship Fund.
Stanisci has been an illustrator for Marvel and DC Comics for 18 years. He has worked on characters such as Spider-man, The Hulk, Batman, and Catwoman.
Most recently, he lent his talents to Batman Beyond, the trade paperback which premiered at number one on the New York Times best seller list for graphic novels.
Stanisci rarely signs his work but will be available to autograph his illustrations at the Mount Auction.
He will also schedule custom-designed, private commissions upon request.
Presented in association with the Marlin Art Auction House, the  auction at Mount St. Mary Academy will include a variety of pieces from artists such as Tarkay, Holland, Neiman, Delacroix, Dali, and Boulanger.
Sports items and collectible pieces, including the McCartney and Stones pieces, will also be available.  Each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity.      
   Admission is $10 per person or $15 per couple and includes wine, hors d’oeuvres, and dessert.
