Lennon clears up Macca remarks

John Lennon's son Julian insists he was joking when he recently accused his late dad's Beatles bandmate Paul McCartney of "snubbing" him.

Singer/songwriter Julian took to his Facebook.com page last month to apparently blast McCartney for not inviting him to his recent wedding to American heiress Nancy Shevell and ignoring him at a reception in New York.

But he has now posted an update on the social networking website to tell fans his comments were a light-hearted joke which snowballed out of control.

He writes, "Seems many have taken my comment from the other week a little too far... It was truly written, hand on heart, with a whimsical heart... The situation was laughable, more than anything... Wasn't whining... just stating the facts... Obviously people misplace & mistake my sense of humour & character... C'est La Vie."

Julian is Lennon's son from his first marriage to Cynthia Powell.
