Paul McCartney, who begins a set of five shows in the Far East Saturday, arrived in Japan May 15, Jash's Paul McCartney News, a Japanese McCartney fan website, told Beatles Examiner today. McCartney arrived two days before the first two shows in Japan take place at the National Stadium in Tokyo on Saturday and Sunday.

“Paul McCartney arrived at Tokyo International Airport (HND) about 6 p.m. local time (5 a.m. EDT/2 a.m. PDT) today for his "Out There Tour Japan 2014" which will takes place from Saturday, May 17,” Jash told Beatles Examiner in a rough translation. “Paul left the airport in London about 6 o'clock in the morning. He seemed to ride on a chartered private jet.

Jash said estimates of the number of fans welcoming Paul at the airport ranged from 400 in news stories to 500 in eyewitness reports. “Paul left the airport for a hotel in Tokyo around 19:00 (7 p.m.). According to the news, Paul is planning to stay in Japan until the 26th.” You can see pictures and a video report on this page.

After the Tokyo shows, McCartney will play the Nippon Budokan May 21 and Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka May 24, then move on to Korea for a show May 28 at Jamsil Sports Complex in Seoul, South Korea. Last November, McCartney played six sold-out shows in Japan in Tokyo, Fukuoka and Osaka.
