RR Auction's "Marvels of Music" auction, which ends Thursday night, includes a number of Beatles items, including several from 1964 and earlier.
Included is a paper signed by all four Beatles shortly after Ringo Starr joined the band, a poster signed by the group (with four signatures by Paul McCartney) during the filming of "A Hard Day's Night," an autographed cover slick of the UK "A Hard Day's Night" album and a Topstar Portrait picture of the group which the auction says dates from 1963.
Other items include a Liverpool Echo newspaper with a salute to the Beatles signed in ballpoint by John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison and a menu for the supper party held following the world premiere of "Help!" at the Dorchester Hotel July 29th, 1965. The menu is signed by all four Beatles and co-star Victor Spinetti
Also featured is a Hofner bass that signed by Paul McCartney, George Harrison and John Lennon. According to RR Auctions, the circa 1959 guitar was originally signed in black ink by John Lennon, McCartney and George Harrison on June 6, 1964. The guitar is described as in very good condition with dings to the body and surface loss along the edges. The auction house says the guitar was originally offered by Christie's Auctions in the UK in May, 1997.
The auction closes at 7 p.m. ET Thursday. The full catalog is online at this link.
