Paul McCartney's rain check approaches: This spring, due to health reasons, the former Beatle was forced to postpone his scheduled June 19 concert at the Smoothie King Center until Oct. 11. Tickets purchased for the original date will be honored in October or refunded, but for the latter, time is ticking. Refunds, promoters announced Thursday (July 31), will be offered only until Monday, Sept. 1, via Ticketmaster.

After his illness, the Cute One appears to have bounced back strong. Reviews for the resumed U.S. leg of his "Out There" tour, currently underway, have been stellar: a MassLive.com review for his first show back on the horse, July 6 in Albany, New York, praised his "expert" backing band, saying it was "an energetic performance ... that seemed to feed off the excitement in the sold-out arena." A July 19 Seattle date was reported as "epic" and "as close to perfect as it gets."

On Sept. 23, it was announced earlier this week, Concord Music Group will reissue two remastered versions of classic Wings albums, 1975's "Venus and Mars" and 1976's "At the Speed of Sound," as part of its Paul McCartney Archive collection. Both albums will be available in several physical and digital formats: a two-disc edition, with a collection of demos and unreleased tracks; a three-disc version sold in a hardback book featuring unpublished photos, new interviews with Paul, various materials from McCartney's archives and expanded track-by-track information, plus a bonus DVD of material filmed around the time of the album's original release, some not before seen.

Both albums will also be available in gatefold vinyl editions, which come with a download card for digital versions of the songs. Remastering work was done at Abbey Road studios by a team that has worked on previous McCartney Archive releases, as well as the Beatles catalog.

Paul McCartney returned to a concert stage Saturday in Albany, N.Y., after being sidelined for two months because of a virus.
