Streets around BOK Center temporarily renamed to honor Paul McCartney

Circling the BOK Center, four downtown streets will temporarily have new names that should sound familiar to Paul McCartney fans.

Third Street becomes “Abbey Road” and Denver Avenue turns into “Penny Lane.”


First Street becomes “Blackbird Boulevard” while Frisco Avenue turns into “All Together Crossing.” McCartney will perform May 29 and 30 as part of the BOK’s fifth anniversary celebration.


“We wanted a unique way to recognize the iconic music of Sir Paul and the Beatles,” explained John Bolton, general manager of SMG, the arena’s management company, “As well as welcome him back to Tulsa.


The streets will revert back to their old names after the concerts.


McCartney played at the BOK in 2009 for the arena’s first anniversary concert.
