A promotional trailer for the new remastered "Yellow Submarine" Blu-ray and DVD, which was announced today, has been released.
The trailer features a compilation of scenes from the film and also includes some live footage of the Beatles not used in the film.
The new reissue, coming May 29 in the U.S. and May 28 everywhere else, has been restored in 4K digital resolution by Triage Motion Picture Services and Eque Inc. led by Paul Rutan Jr. According to today's announcement, the digital restoration was completely done by hand without the use of automated software.
Bonus features include audio commentary by producer John Coates and art director Heinz Edelmann, interview clips with others involved with the film, storyboard sequences, 29 original pencil drawings and 30 behind-the-scenes photos. Also included will be “Mod Odyssey,” about the making of the film, the original theatrical trailer, reproductions of animation cels from the film, collectible stickers, and a 16-page booklet with a new essay by John Lasseter, the chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios.
"The Yellow Submarine Songtrack" album is also being reissued, though there's no word on whether it'll be available through iTunes.
