BILLY KINSLEY
A native Liverpudlian, Billy Kinsley is a founding member of The Merseybeats. In the early-60s, The Merseybeats often played at The Cavern Club on the same bill as The Beatles, and are said to have appeared with them more than any other group from that era. During that time, they had hits with "It's Love That Really Counts" and "I Think Of You."
Billy later became a session musician for Apple Records, working alongside George Harrison and others, before becoming a founding member of Liverpool Express in 1975. As part of Liverpool Express, Billy sang lead on "You Are My Love," which Paul McCartney has cited as one of his favorite love songs. This is Billy's first New York Metro FEST appearance! He is a great storyteller and has unique insight into those early days of The Beatles development. He will also be part of the Scouser's talk about growing up in Liverpool.
