Dear Fellow Beatles Fans,

2017 marks the 50th Anniversary of the most important album of all time - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. And we will be saluting this historic milestone at next year's FEST FOR BEATLES FANS.

We have been working for months to get all the exciting details for our first ever FEST in a 21st Century hotel - the Hyatt Regency Jersey City On the Hudson. It is our first FEST in New Jersey in four years and you are going to love this hotel. With the PATH train to NYC located right outside the entrance, fans from the NY side of the river can hop on a train and be there in minutes, with no hassles.

Our goal is to make this the
BEST NEW YORK METRO FEST EVER!

Many of you have already made your hotel reservations. Here is the link if you have yet to lock in your room.

The hotel is sold out for Saturday night, March 4, but there are rooms available at our nearby overflow hotel, the Double Tree by Hilton Hotels. Here is the link to reserve your room.

For all of you waiting for our Fall/Holiday Catalogue, they are in the mail and you should receive yours (if on our mailing list) by mid week.

Peace and Love,
Mark, Carol, Michelle and Jessica Lapidos

There is no question The Beatles were the most popular group of all time and among the 4 most well known people ever to walk this earth. More books have been written about them and countless magazines & media coverage. This year’s lineup of SPECIAL GUESTS covers the full spectrum of knowing them from their earliest days, through Hamburg, Liverpool, Beatlemania, The Touring Years, In the Studio, Apple, the Breakup, Solo Careers, Immigration Reform, up to today. We have a great mix of favorite returning guests and some joining us for the first time.
KLAUS VOORMANN

Klaus made a triumphant return to The Chicago FEST in August to join us for the 50th Anniversary celebration of Revolver. Klaus first met The Beatles in Hamburg in 1960. He was so blown away by their music that he brought his girlfriend, Astrid Kirchherr, to see and hear what excited him. Their friendship solidified and that friendship continues to this day. In 1966, John asked Klaus to design the album cover for their next album. The cover has become iconic and won Klaus a Grammy for Best Album Cover of the year for Revolver.  More recently, he designed the album covers for The Beatles Anthology Series.

As a musician, Klaus was the bass player with the Manfred Mann Band. He also recorded with George (All Things Must Pass, Living in the Material World), John (Instant Karma single,Imagine LP) and Ringo (Ringo LP, where he also created the booklet artwork). When John was asked to perform in concert in Toronto in 1969, he invited Klaus to join him. When George put his band together for the Bangladesh Concert in 1971, he chose Klaus. This is Klaus's first NY METRO FEST in 15 years and he will have an exhibition of his new graphic novel about the creation of Revolver. This book, called Birth of an Icon Revolver 50, is our #1 bestseller of 2016 and we are honored to be the only outlet in the U.S. where you can purchase limited edition signed copies. Klaus will also have copies for sale at the FEST in March.
BILLY KINSLEY

A native Liverpudlian, Billy Kinsley is a founding member of The Merseybeats. In the early-60s, The Merseybeats often played at The Cavern Club on the same bill as The Beatles, and are said to have appeared with them more than any other group from that era. During that time, they had hits with "It's Love That Really Counts" and "I Think Of You."
Billy later became a session musician for Apple Records, working alongside George Harrison and others, before becoming a founding member of Liverpool Express in 1975. As part of Liverpool Express, Billy sang lead on "You Are My Love," which Paul McCartney has cited as one of his favorite love songs. This is Billy's first New York Metro FEST appearance! He is a great storyteller and has unique insight into those early days of The Beatles development. He will also be part of the Scouser's talk about growing up in Liverpool.
JOEY MOLLAND

Joey is best known for being a member of Badfinger, the Beatles' protege band on Apple Records. He auditioned for Badfinger in November of 1969, joined the group shortly after, and remained with them until 1974. From Come and Get It and No Matter Whatto Day After Day & Baby Blue, their driving sound made them an instant sensation in the early 1970s.

In addition to his work with Badfinger, Joey played guitar on George's All Things Must Pass and The Concert for Bangladeshand played on John's Imagine.

Joey is a native Liverpudlian who will be telling great stories from those hectic Apple days. He will be part of a Scouser's talk with some of his fellow Liverpudlians and will of course be performing his hits (and a few Beatles songs) with Liverpool on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Joey has a high energy level and always adds lots of excitement to the FEST. This is Joey's first NY METROFEST in six years and we are thrilled he can join us this year.
LOUISE HARRISON

George's big sister is the author of the recently published book,My Kid Brother's Band...a.k.a. The Beatles. In the book, Louise covers lots of interesting Beatles topics from the inside looking out, including her efforts to help promote the arrival of the Beatles in America in 1964 (Louise was living in Illinois at the time).

Last year, Louise returned to the FEST for the first time in 16 years. This year she is making an encore appearance and bringing along her grandson, Tory Rodgers, who shares a resemblance to and encapsulates the spirit of his Grand Uncle George.
LAURENCE JUBER
Laurence was Paul's lead guitarist in Wings from 1978 to 1980, a time that included the Back To The Egg album. Laurence will be premiering his third solo Beatles album at the FEST and also has a just released Holiday album, called Holidays, HollyNights.
He has recorded over a dozen acoustic guitar albums and has won a couple of Grammy awards along the way. Laurence has written and played on many TV show and movie soundtracks, and has been named Guitar Player's 'Guitarist of the Year' twice! Laurence will be performing some Wings hits with Liverpool and two former wings Drummers Denny Seiwell and Steve Holley during Saturday and Sunday evening's concerts, in addition to his Sunday Afternoon Solo Acoustic Concert. You won't want to miss this.
DENNY SEIWELL

Denny first crossed paths with Paul in 1971 during the recording of Ram. He was a session drummer in New York City when the call came. Paul invited him to join his brand new band, Wings, soon after and he became the first to join the McCartneys.

Denny was on that legendary first Wings tour when the band would take a van around to U.K. colleges unannounced and asked to play for nothing. Most said yes!! This is Denny's first appearance at the New York Metro Fest since 2012, and he'll be performing some Wings hits in concert with other former Wings members Laurence Juber and Steve Holley, with Liverpool. He also does a live drum performance to selections from Ram, sort of like a drum clinic. It is a treat to see and hear.
LEON WILDES

Leon Wildes is the legendary Immigration Attorney who almost singlehandedly won the federal case against John Lennon. It was the most influential and bitterly contested deportation case in U.S. history. The American Bar Association has named his book, John Lennon vs. The USA, the most important legal book of the year. We are honored to be welcome Leon to his first FEST and will be joining us on SUNDAY ONLY to talk about the case and sign copies of his book. If you want to order a signed copy ahead of time, please go to the webstore. We are the only place to get signed copies of his book.

LARRY KANE

Newscaster and Beatles author Larry Kane's most recent book about the Fab Four is When They Were Boys. This book covers the early history through March of '64. Larry was the only journalist to travel with The Beatles on the '64 & '65 U.S. tours, and he incorporated stories from those experiences. Larry can currently be seen numerous times in the latest Ron Howard film,Eight Days a Week: The Beatles Live. He was at the premiere and advance screenings and will talk about the interaction with Paul, Ringo and Ron.  We look forward to welcoming Larry back to the FEST on Friday and Saturday. Below is Larry with Paul at the Eight Days a Week premiere.
MARK RIVERA

Ringo's current Musical Director premiered his first solo album,Common Bond, at the NYC FEST in 2014. It is a collection of eight originals and two covers. Mark and producer Jimmy Bralower (Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood) assembled an amazing cast of friends and colleagues including a rare appearance by Billy Joel on one track. Ringo, Robert Randolph, Nils Lofgren and Steve Lukather also contributed their great talents to this excellent album. Mark is still Billy Joel's Horn Player.

His song, "Money, Money, Money" (with Ringo playing Drums) was voted the 8th Coolest Song of the Year on Little Steven's Underground Garage on Sirius/FM. Mark is a huge Beatles fan and early in his amazing career, performed with John Lennon in 1975, an experience he will never forget. Mark also coordinated Paul's surprise appearance at Ringo's 70th Birthday concert at Radio City Music Hall. We're thrilled to be welcoming back Mark, one of the finest Sax players in the business.
LIVERPOOL

LIVERPOOL, featuring Drew Hill, Glen Burtnik, John Merjave and Chris Camilleri, is the World's finest Beatles tribute band. Their amazing concerts highlight every FEST, including the last hour of the concert when they bring up all the musical legends of their time to perform their hits live on our stage. In 2016, they performedRevolver in its entirety. 2017 is the 50th Anniversary of the most important album ever recorded - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. LIVERPOOL will perform Side 1 on Saturday night and Side 2 on Sunday night. They'll also be performing dozens more Beatles and Solo cuts!

Just to name some artists Liverpool has played with over the past 37 years - Harry Nilsson, Billy Preston, Donovan, Peter & Gordon, Klaus Voormann, Joey Molland, Gerry Marsden, Billy J. Kramer, Neil Innes/Rutles, The Quarrymen, Ronnie Spector, Alan Parsons, Doris Troy, Norman "Hurricane" Smith, Peter Noone, Micky Dolenz, Six Wings Members, Terry Sylvester, Spencer Davis, Chris Montez, and Gary Wright. For Liverpool, the focus is on the incredible music the Beatles created, and bringing that energy to the stage while performing note-for-note renditions. Friday evening, they welcome fans with a 60s (optional) Dress Up Night that includes a Look-Alike Contest, a Dress Up Contest, Door Prizes and DANCING. Evening's concerts begin around 9:30 PM (Sat) and 8:00PM (Sun) and are not to be missed.
MARK HUDSON

Mark (The Hudson Brothers) was Ringo's producer for 10 years. During that time, most of the recordings took place in Mark's tiny studio in Los Angeles, which was a shrine to the Beatles. During those sessions, Mark got to work with Paul, George, Eric Clapton, Willie Nelson, Steven Tyler, and dozens others.

Mark will lead the Grand Jam Finale's near the end of Liverpool's concerts on Saturday and Sunday, and will head up the always insightful and unrehearsed Musicians' Forum on Sunday! Mark is in a class all by himself when he tells Beatles anecdotes. He is a bonafide hard core fan and loves to share his insights with the fans. This is Mark's 16th year with us.
BIRDS OF PARADOX

Appearing in concert on Saturday, Birds of Paradox is local artist Jeff Slate's band that includes Steve Holley (Wings) as well as Gary Van Scyoc and Adam Ippolito from John Lennon's Elephants Memory Band. On lead guitar is the one and only Jimmy Mack!
This is their fourth appearance at the New York Metro Fest, and they'll be recreating John's One-To-One Concert on Saturday as we celebrate its 45th Anniversary!
THE WEEKLINGS

Appearing in concert on Sunday Afternoon, The Weeklings -- consisting of Glen Burtnik and John Merjave from LIVERPOOL, Bob Burger, and Joe Bellia -- will be playing songs the Beatles wrote but never recorded as well as their Beatle-esque originals and more Beatles cuts. They'll also be selling copies of their latest CD and album, so be sure to snatch one up!
JON COBERT

Jon Cobert makes a return visit to the NY Metro FEST. Jon is an outstanding session pianist in the New York City scene and plays on John’s hit of Stand By Me, from 1975’s Rock & Roll album. He can also belt out a vocal, as he did on stage with us in April and at Q104.3’s Live Breakfast With The Beatles with Ken Dashow celebrating John’s birthday.
TONY KAYE

Director/cinematographer and co-writer with Sir Paul for five of the six documentary shorts on Paul's songs from Pure McCartney. This is Tony Kaye's first New York Metro FEST appearance and he will talk about working with Paul on this project. He hopes to have the Virtual Reality demonstrations at the FEST as well.
LOOKING FOR LENNON

A first exclusive U.S. screening, Looking For Lennon will be screened Friday night in the Hudson Ballroom at the FEST after the concert. Associate Producer David Bedford will introduce the film and take questions at the end. We may screening it again over the weekend in the Video Room.
