Robert Freeman: Beatles for Sale
14th February to 16th March 2013
A selling exhibition of classic work by Robert Freeman, the photographer behind the camera on five early Fab Four album covers.
Robert Freeman's work is well know to all Beatles fans - because his photographs appeared on five of their early sleeves; With The Beatles; A Hard Day's Night; Beatles for Sale; Help and, perhaps his classic, Rubber Soul. That's some CV.
There has been much discussion in the last month on Beatles fan sites over a previously unseen colour photograph from the Rubber Soul sessions, and we look at it in some detail here. Rubber Soul will of course feature in the gallery exhibition, and we are delighted to be showing an ultra large format sepia toned version of the classic cover image, measuring 37 x 39 inches when framed, and one of only two examples ever made by Robert Freeman in that size.
Come along and check out this and other classic early Beatles images by Robert Freeman at the gallery, or view them online.
It’s a little different to our usual exhibitions because Robert Freeman no longer makes prints, editions are almost sold out, and so for many of the photographs we have just one example for sale.
