Grammys 2013 Live: Stars take centre stage for the music industry’s big night

The stars of the music world are out in force at Los Angeles’ Staples Center as the industry comes together for its marquee awards ceremony Sunday at the Grammys.
Canadian Drake is already on of the night’s big winners, taking home the prize for best rap album for Take Care at the pre-broadcast ceremony.
Other Canadian Grammy hopefuls include double-nominated R&B singer Tamia, three-time winner Michael Buble and two-time victor Melanie Fiona as well as Deadmau5, Tegan and Sara and members of Arcade Fire.
Ahead of the awards ceremony, the buzz around town was that no one quite has any idea what’s going to happen.

A huge herd of musicians are tied with six nominations apiece including the Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, Frank Ocean, Jay-Z, fun. and Kanye West and the evening’s marquee category, album of the year, appears to be a total toss-up.
Meanwhile, the evening’s all-star cast of performers have been putting the finishing touches on a series of musical spectacles.
In addition to performances from top nominees including Ocean, innovative R&B crooner Miguel, the Black Keys (with Dr. John and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band), fun. and White, the Grammys will feature some typically unexpected collaborations. Rihanna, Sting and Bruno Mars will take the stage together, as will Elton John and Ed Sheeran and expect a major rap performance from Chuck D, LL Cool J, Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.
