BRITISH music legend Sir Paul McCartney will wed his girlfriend, New Yorker Nancy Shevell, this weekend in England, a source told "Us Weekly" today.
The person said McCartney and Shevell will have a "small, intimate wedding" at the former Beatle's farmhouse in Sussex. The UK ceremony will reportedly be followed by a reception party in New York, where Shevell lives.
McCartney's publicist confirmed in May that the 69-year-old pop star and Shevell, 51, were engaged.
The marriage will be McCartney's third.
His nearly 30-year romance with first wife Linda McCartney produced four children: Heather, his wife's child who he adopted, photographer Mary, designer Stella and musician James. Linda died in 1998 from breast cancer.
The rocker has a fifth child, Beatrice, with second wife Heather Mills. In 2008 their marriage ended, after six years, in a messy divorce - with a large payout of £24.3 million ($38.4m) from McCartney to Mills.
Shevell is said to be popular with McCartney's adult-aged children from his first wife. The 39-year-old Stella, who reportedly loathed Mills, has particularly taken to Shevell and is "thrilled for her father", a source told People magazine in May.
McCartney has been coy about his relationship with Shevell, suggesting in a 2008 interview that he was in no hurry to rush into a third marriage. When pushed about where the relationship was heading, he said, "I just like being in love."
McCartney began dating Shevell, a businesswoman and member of the board of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, in 2007. She has a teenage son from her 23-year marriage to her first husband, New York lawyer Bruce Blakeman. The pair split in 2007.
