The Beatles: Live At The Hollywood Bowl
IS OUT TODAY

Out Now.

The Beatles: Live At The Hollywood Bowl captures the joyous exuberance of the band’s three sold-out concerts at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl in 1964 and 1965.

You can order your copy here.

While The Beatles: Live At The Hollywood Bowl references the long out of print 1977 album, it is an entirely new release, directly sourced from the original three track tapes of the concerts.
A companion to The Beatles: Eight Days A Week – The Touring Years, the album is out worldwide on CD and for digital download and streaming on September 9, followed by a 180-gram gatefold vinyl LP on November 18.

Joe Levy's Rolling Stone review:
“The Beatles: Live at the Hollywood Bowl Offers Raw Frenzy
* * * * ½
“a seamless rush of manic love”...“such a thrill”... “explosive joy”
“the frenzy never lets up, a direct line into the sexualized hysteria at the heart of early rock & roll”

'BOYS'

Watch the new video of Ringo and the band performing BOYS, the Shirelles’ hit from August 23rd, 1964, at the Hollywood Bowl.  The new audio mix for the video was directly sourced from the original three track tapes of the concerts.

"Technology has moved on since my father worked on the material all those years ago," music producer Giles Martin said.  Giles and Abbey Road engineer Sam Okell have expertly remixed and mastered the recordings at Abbey Road Studios, including the thirteen tracks from the original album produced by Giles’ father, plus four additional, previously unreleased recordings from the momentous concerts.

"Now there's improved clarity, and so the immediacy and visceral excitement can be heard like never before."..."What we hear now is the raw energy of four lads playing together to a crowd that loved them. This is the closest you can get to being at the Hollywood Bowl at the height of Beatlemania."

Hulu, which has the rights to show the new Ron Howard-directed Beatle film Eight Days A Week – The Touring Years, has begun uploading some extracts ahead of it being available to stream live from September 17.

There are two of these so far. First up is “How The Beatles Fought Segregation”:

And “When Paul Met John”:

Meanwhile, over at the official Eight Days A Week website there’s now a downloadable podcast featuring audio producer for both the film and the CD, Giles Martin:

Of course, the best way to see Eight Days A Week: The Touring Years will be on the big screen in the cinema – where as a bonus the film will be accompanied by special screenings of a newly restored version of The Beatles At Shea Stadium – 30 minutes of rare footage from the historic 1965 concert:

Eight Days A Week: The Touring Years premieres in cinemas in the U.S. on September 16, in the U.K., France, Germany and Australia on September 15, and in Japan on September 22.
