Paul McCartney is among the nominees for “The People's Choice Awards 2016” that were announced Nov. 3. McCartney is named in the Favorite Music Icon category. Also competing for the award in that category are Madonna, Prince, Steven Tyler and Stevie Wonder. Madonna is a two-time winner of a People's Choice Award and has been nominated a total of eight times, including twice for the 2016 awards in this category and for Favorite Female Artist.

Voting for this year's selections started today at the People's Choice Awards website and on Facebook and mobile applications and runs through 11:59 p.m. EST Dec. 3. The People’s Choice Awards, in its 42nd year, is voted on entirely by the public for fan favorites in movies, music, television and digital categories. The digital awards category is new to the awards this year. The winners will be revealed during the live broadcast of “People's Choice Awards 2016” to take place at the Microsoft Theatre L.A. Live on CBS-TV on Jan. 6, 2016 from 9 to 11 p.m. ET/PT. Tickets to the awards show are now available for fans to purchase through the AXS website.

Nominees were revealed this morning at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills. Jane Lynch of “Angel From Hell” hosted the announcement. The set, available both in regular DVD and Blu-ray, will feature 27 videos in the single-disc version and 50 in the deluxe three-disc set, which will also include a remixed/remastered "1" CD that will be available separately. Ringo Starr sent out a tweet about the new product on Monday on his @ringostarrmusic account, with a picture of the set and a comment that said, "123 if you love the Beatles you need this because it's great. Peace and love."

They say good things come to those who wait — and this is definitely a moment fans have been waiting for!

Nominees for People’s Choice Awards 2016 were announced earlier today at the Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles.

With more than 72 million votes cast across music, movies, TV, and digital, the run-up to the 2016 show is already shaping up to be incredibly contentious. Making the race for a coveted trophy even more exciting? A number of nominees snagged multiple votes.

Among them is People’s Choice Awards first-timer, The Weeknd, who leads the list of nominees with a whopping five nods, including “Favorite Male Artist” and “Favorite Album” for Beauty Behind the Madness. On the flip side, Madonna, who is a two-time People’s Choice Awards winner, is nominated for both “Favorite Music Icon,” which pits her against Paul McCartney, Prince, Steven Tyler, and Stevie Wonder, and “Favorite Female Artist,” a category which finds her facing off against Demi Lovato, Lana Del Rey, Selena Gomez, and Taylor Swift.

As far as triple threats are concerned however, that honor goes solely to Dwayne Johnson, the only nominee to receive recognition across three different genres. Johnson, aka “The Rock,” is nominated in movies for “Favorite Action Movie Actor,” in TV for “Favorite Cable TV Actor,” and in digital for “Favorite Social Media Celebrity.”

Meanwhile, though Grey’s Anatomy lost McDreamy this year, it seems to have gained even more love from fans. The series is the most-nominated TV show, with an impressive six nods. Coming in just slightly above that is Avengers: Age of Ultron, the top movie nominee with a total of seven nods.

You can vote for the People’s Choice Awards 2016 nominee that you think deserves to walk away with a trophy on PeoplesChoice.com, the People’s Choice Facebook page, and/or the People’s Choice Awards mobile app.
