GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- The wait is over. Sir Paul McCartney's tour has landed in Green Bay.
McCartney is no stranger to Wisconsin. He's had shows in Milwaukee in the past and he performed in Madison earlier this week.
Now, the former Beatle will perform for the first time at Lambeau Field Saturday night.
Fans have already made it clear they're excited for the legendary singer's "Freshen Up Tour."
"He's a living legend I mean he’s on my bucket list," said Barb G.

"Oh Beatles we love you," fans sang.
People tailgated not for the Packers but the Beatles legend himself. Many fans are seeing him for the second and third time.
"He tells stories during the concert, " a fan told FOX 11. "He told this Jimi Hendrix story last time and I just hope he tells it again."
But never before in Green Bay.
"Lambeau's special it just is," said one fan.
"At Lambeau field it doesn’t get any better than that," said another.
"This is my fourth Paul concert. I’m going to see Ringo this summer. My wife made me this hat," said a fan.
"Go Pack go" turned to "go Paul go."

Many fans showed their dedication to the icon with tour shirts spanning decades and made the trip from around the country to see him.
Ellen Gates traveled from California.
"I came in for the weekend to see Paul McCartney at Lambeau," she said.
Gates has been a fan since the '60s.
"When he was the on the 'Ed Sullivan Show'... my lip prints are probably still on our old black and white TV."
"He's just an entertainer he really is," said another fan.
While McCartney's been performing for decades, fans seem to never tire of seeing him take the stage.
"If we can do that when we’re almost 77 I think we’ll all be doing pretty well," said Barb Bloomer.

Green Bay and Ashwaubenon offered fans a chance to listen to Beatles tribute bands leading up to the concert.
On Wednesday, Green Bay temporarily turned City Deck Court into Abbey Road, the iconic Beatles album.

GREEN BAY - Just like the generation of fans who have never forgotten what it was like to see The Beatles on “The Ed Sullivan Show” more than a half-century ago, the sold-out crowd at Lambeau Field on Saturday will forever remember how it felt to sing along to “Hey Jude” with Paul McCartney on a picture-perfect June evening in 2019.
It didn’t just feel good. It felt unforgettable.
More than a few in the crowd of nearly 50,000 were lucky enough to get the McCartney bookend experience — old enough to have experienced Beatlemania back in the ’60s as teens and still young enough to relive it with a 76-year-old McCartney now. There’s no premium seat that can’t top a vantage point like that.
There was every age imaginable whenever the cameras panned the sea of joyful faces, each one hooked at some point in their lives by one of the most influential bands in music history. They came wearing a parade of Beatles T-shirts, British flag accessories and at least a few “Sgt. Pepper’s” epaulets. They waved signs that read “Donna Wants to Hold Your Hand” and “1 2 3 4 5 6 7 All Good Cheeseheads Go To Heaven.” (“That’s true,” McCartney said of the latter.)
Mostly, they couldn’t stop smiling.
When you put them all together under the effortless spell of an age-defying rock icon in one of football’s most iconic venues, hang a crescent moon off to the side of the stage for added effect, it was a moment decades in the making and every bit worth the wait.

McCartney’s first visit to the city for a stop on his Freshen Up Tour — and only the fourth major concert inside the stadium in its 62-year history — clocked in at just shy of three hours, boasted 38 songs and was the very definition of going to your happy place.
“Hello Lambeau,” McCartney said, giving “Lambeau” an extended “ohhhh” at the end like only Sir Paul can. “I’m getting the feeling we’re going to have a bit of a good time here tonight.”
Just a bit.
From “A Hard Day’s Night” as the opener to “The End” as the closer, McCartney and his magnificent band gave it all they had all night as they bounced with ease between his endless Beatles, Wings and solo catalogs. That’s a nearly impossible chunk of territory to cover in any form or fashion, but somehow he still found time to slip in an acoustic “In Spite of All the Danger” from his pre-Beatles days as the Quarrymen.
He dispatched the horn section to perform from the Section 117-119 aisle in the stands for “Letting Go” and sat down at the piano to play “Let ‘Em In,” as the Lambeau bowl lit up with phones that made it look as if the stars had dropped from the sky. He sang “My Valentine” for wife Nancy Shevell, whom he said was in attendance. He let drummer Abe Laboriel Jr., with a personality as big as the stage that towered over the south end zone, show off his silly dance moves on “Dance Tonight.”
Lambeau Field is full of fans before the start of Paul McCartney's performance on Saturday night. The capacity crowd was estimated to be near 50,000.

He introduced “Here Today,” a song he wrote after John Lennon's death, by saying, “If you want to say something nice to someone, you should get it said.” He shared several extended personal stories about Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and George Martin and made sure there was a round of applause for his late Beatles bandmates.
“Let’s hear it for Georgie,” he said after playing “Something” on a ukulele George Harrison gave him from his collection.
You could almost feel the collective swell of hearts in the stadium with the opening harmonica of “Love Me Do.” The “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da” sing-along was the Fab Four equivalent of “Roll Out the Barrel” at a Packers game. When it came time for “Let It Be” and “Band on the Run” (45 years to the day after it hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100), it was like James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” but with a few more people crammed in the car.
The massive pyro on a wild “Live and Let Die” literally blew your hair back, and the frantic video graphics for “Helter Skelter” made it look as if the stage had broke loose and was careening straight for you. There was something wonderful about seeing all the eye-popping colors of the rainbow on such a grand scale in a venue otherwise dominated by just two: green and gold.
It’s hard to imagine what more any fan could’ve asked from a night that was all about love and togetherness, a marathon of unmatched musicianship, the sweetest of nostalgia and a music history lesson come to life — except for maybe three more hours.
