Featuring Paul McCartney 1973.

"Six o'clock in the morning, you've just gone to sleep,
I wipe a tear from my eye.
It can't be the kind of company i keep,
That keeps me askin', you keep me askin',
You keep me wond'rin' why.

I don't treat you like i'd like to treat you,
Ev'ry planet in the sky is in your eyes,
But i don't treat you like i,
No, i don't treat you like i,
No, i don't treat you like i should.

It could be the comfort going to my head,
That makes me wanna dream of you.
But while you're sleeping softly in your bed,
I wanna tell you, i'd like to tell you,
I'd love to tell you too.

I (i) don't (don't) treat (treat) you (you)
Like i'd like to treat you,
Ev'ry diamond in the sky is in your eyes,
But i don't treat you like i,
No, i don't treat you like i,
No, i don't treat you like i should.

I know you would say, you love my way,
It's good enough for you.
But i know for sure, i could do more, (more) more. (more)

I want to tell you, i'd like to tell you,
I'd love to tell you too.

I (i) don't (don't) treat (treat) you (you)
Like i'd like to treat you,
Ev'ry diamond in the sky is in your eyes,
But i don't treat you like i,
No, i don't treat you like i,
No, i don't treat you like i should.

But i don't treat you like i,
No, i don't treat you like i,
No, i don't treat you like i should.

(uh-)
But i don't treat you like i,
No, i don't treat you like i,
No, i don't treat you like i should.

(uh-uh-uh)
But i don't treat you like i,
No, i don't treat you like i,
No, i don't treat you like i could.

Hit it!
Uh, uh,
A-boom-achaca!

Well, i don't treat you like i,
Well, i don't treat you like i,
Well, i don't treat you like i do.
(hey, hey, hey, yeah)

Well, i don't treat you like i,
Well, i don't treat you like i,
Well, i don't treat you like i. (oh, oh, oh)

Alright!

Well, i don't treat you like i,
Well, i don't treat you like i,
Well, i don't treat you like i. (yeah, yeah)

But i don't treat you like i,
But i don't treat you like i,
But i don't treat you like i. (yeah)

But i don't treat you like i,
But i don't treat you like i,
But i don't treat you like i.

But i don't treat you like i,
But i don't treat you like i,
But i don't treat you like i. (no, i don't treat you)

But i don't treat you like i,
But i don't treat you like i,
But i don't treat you like i".

Peter Funt: Hair yesterday, today and forevermore

Written by Peter Funt
Dec 26, 2012

Sure, Paul McCartney can still sing at age 70, but have you taken a good look at his hair? During the concert to benefit victims of Sandy, and a few nights later on “Saturday Night Live,” McCartney’s locks were positively mesmerizing.
Madison Square Garden’s gentle breezes made Sir Paul look like he and his hair were at a photo shoot for “Vogue.” As a BBF (balding Beatles fan), I was torn between adoration and raging jealousy.
Most of us who attended the 1965 Shea Stadium concert are now gray and lucky to have any hair at all. Paul’s mop, on the other hand, doesn’t appear to have changed a bit.
And what about Mick Jagger? He bounded across the stage with his shoulder length hair looking thick and lustrous. Of course, Jagger’s just 69.

I’ve seen famous folks with bad hairpieces, obvious dye jobs, and telltale transplants. But if Paul and Mick have had work done, it’s mighty hard to tell.
As soon as the concert ended I Googled. Sure enough, the ever-vigilant British tabloids had more versions of the story than Alan Brady had toupees on the “Dick Van Dyke Show.”
The Daily Mirror dug deep into the follicles of British scalp trends under the headline, “The bald truth behind celebrity hair transplants.” Seems quite a few Brits invest in dramatic and expensive hair jobs.
Paul’s voice is thinning with age, while his hair remains frozen in time. Wouldn’t it be nice if science could flip that around?
By the end of the Sandy concert I decided I was more of a Billy Joel fan than I had realized. He’s a real New Yorker, a survivor in the manner of Billy Crystal and Matt Lauer, who also make do with pretty much whatever hair they have at the moment.

IMAGINE PEACE is Yoko Ono's worldwide initiative of anti-violence. In the film, the words "Imagine Peace" are written in 24 languages set over the tranquil imagery of a blue-sky background. The piece has been transformed into a multi-channel work specifically for Times Square, and spreads the message of peace across Times Square's monumental screens simultaneously.

And a special thankyou to Make Music New York for helping to co-ordinate such a wonderful event on Dec 21st to show us all that the world was not coming to an end, but entering a new beginning in a world of PEACE.

Yes, PEACE! No more violence! No more war!

Can we do that? I think we are already getting there...

The event in Times Square seemed like a different country from where the most recent tragedy happened.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

It's Time for action.
And the action is Peace.

Think Peace. Act Peace. Spread Peace.
IMAGINE PEACE.

Happy New Year. Let's hope it's a good one without any fear.

Robert Zemeckis No Longer Wants to Remake the Beatles' 'Yellow Submarine'

Robert Zemeckis No Longer Wants to Remake the Beatles' 'Yellow Submarine'
by Marc Hogan
December 28 2012

Director backs away from idea after Disney pulled plug
Robert Zemeckis' once-planned 3-D remake of the Beatles Yellow Submarine film has officially sunk. The Back to Future and Forrest Gump director confirmed the project's demise in a purchase-only interview with Total Film.
"That would have been a great one, to bring the Beatles back to life," Zemeckis said. "But it's probably better not to be remade — you're always behind the eight-ball when you do a remake."
Disney had already pulled the plug on the project, as the Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog reported in early 2011, citing unnamed sources. Though Zemeckis would still have been able to shop the project to other studios, his latest comments indicate he's focusing on other projects. That includes the upcoming Denzel Washington vehicle Flight, which marks Zemeckis' first live-action film since 2000's Cast Away.
Zemeckis' update of the Beatles' 1968 film reportedly would've used motion-capture technology similar to the director's work on BeowulfA Christmas Carol, and Mars Needs Moms. The plan was to cast Cary Elwes, Dean Lennox Kelly, Peter Serafinowicz, and Adam Campbell in the roles of the Fab Four; a tribute band called the Fab Four was to have handled the performance scenes. But the Yellow Submarine redux also reportedly would've used 16 songs by the Beatles themselves, which, as the makers of Mad Men can tell you, isn't something that happens every day.
Beatlemaniacs who also happen to be cinephiles can still enjoy a restored version of their 1967 film Magical Mystery Tour, which recently hit DVD. What's more, the Beatles' manager Brian Epstein is set to be the subject of a biopic whose producers include Tom Hanks. Which brings us full circle to Zemeckis-Hanks film Cast Away: Good thing the Beatles song that mentions a "Wilson" wasn't on Yellow Submarine, anyway. We're sorry!

Yoko Ono On Beatles' 'Divorce': 'They Were Getting To Be Like Paul's Band, Which They Didn't Like'

The Huffington Post
By Kia Makarechi
Posted: 12/27/2012

Newly released recordings of interviews with some of music's biggest names -- from Steven Tyler to Graham Nash -- reveal yet another wrinkle in the decades-long mystery of precisely why the Beatles called it quits.

In a recorded interview with industry bigwig Joe Smith (via Rolling Stone), John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono gets to the nitty gritty of what she described as a "divorce." While Ono maintained that Lennon was "feeling very good about" the breakup, she admitted that some tensions were forming within the band. "The Beatles were getting very independent," she said in the 1987 interview. "Each one of them [was] getting independent. John, in fact, was not the first who wanted to leave the Beatles. [We saw] Ringo [Starr] one night with Maureen [Starkey Tigrett], and he came to John and me and said he wanted to leave. George [Harrison] was next, and then John. Paul [McCartney] was the only one trying to hold the Beatles together. But the other three thought Paul would hold the Beatles together as his band. They were getting to be like Paul's band, which they didn't like."

Ono also said the breakup put some strains on her relationship with Lennon, noting that she felt the late icon missed his bandmates and "expected all that to be replaced by me."

All told, it's an account that matches up with McCartney's recent comments. In October, McCartney told David Frost that Ono "did not break the group up" because it was "already breaking up."

More recordings, including interviews with Harrison, McCartney, Mick Jagger, Ray Charles, David Bowie and many more are available at the Library of Congress' website.

In other Ono news, the musician and activist recently debuted a menswear line for Opening Ceremony, which has debuted to mixed reviews.

Paul McCartney 1970s Vocals Medley (Part I)

The Beatles in the 70s (part 1 of 3)

Subido el 17/09/2010
by yenteper
1. April 10, 1970: Derek Taylor at Apple
The press office at 3 Savile Row was besieged after Paul's bombshell announcement that he'd gone solo. Derek seemed as stunned as his inquisitors were. (FFF2, p. 3)

2. April 17, 1970: "Maybe I'm Amazed"
Paul's debut was a mix of unfinished sounding doodlings and fully realized gems like this one. This clip aired on The Ed Sullivan Show on April 19 -- six weeks after Ed featured a Beatles tribute show (acts included Duke Ellington!) and a month before airing Ringo's "Sentimental Journey" promo. (FFF2, p. 2)

3. February 12, 1970: "Instant Karma"
Fans reading between the lines might have been less shocked at Paul's announcement if they had recognized the beginnings of solo careers getting underway for what they were. John's "Instant Karma" hit number three in America in March, around the same time that "Let It Be" was #1. (FFF2, p. 21-22)

4. June 1971: George and John / "How Do You Sleep?"
The ill-will dividing Paul from his former bandmates is manifest in both the snark seen here and the song that encapsulated it. John and George collaborated on the track during the Imagine sessions, a song whose bile Ringo strongly objected to. (FFF2, p. 30-31)

5. August 1, 1971: Concert for Bangladesh / "Wah Wah" & "It Don't Come Easy"
Easily making the biggest splash in the wake of the Beatles dissolution with his debut, All Things Must Pass, George capped the triumph the following year with his all-star benefit in New York. Consciously or not, he strikingly commenced his solo career by performing a song written in a fury after walking out of the Let It Be sessions. (FFF2, p. 48-52, 106-108, 379-381)

Ringo likely never had any expectation that he'd be performing his first hit live after he recorded it. He therefore can be forgiven for struggling to recall the lyrics, despite a cheat sheet. (FFF2, p. 28-30, 107-108)

6. November 23, 1971: George on Dick Cavett / "Bangla Desh"
George's charitable generosity made the attention-shy musician the star of the day. He discussed his efforts on the Dick Cavett talk show a few months later, while aiming a gentle dig at John and Yoko's shameless project plugging weeks earlier on the same show. (FFF2, p. 319-322)

7. September 11, 1971: John and Yoko on Dick Cavett / "Imagine"
Just after moving to America for good, the Lennons made a memorable appearance on the Cavett show. There, they showcased a number of projects, including the upcoming Imagine album. (FFF2, p. 317-319)

8. Early 1972: Wings rehearsal / "Lucille"
Adopting the back to basics approach he'd long urged his former band to take up, Paul formed Wings. Beginning in February 1972, he took the outfit on a series of hit-and-run university dates, organically growing an act destined to hit the big time in little over a year. (FFF2, p. 54-56)

9. January 13, 1972: John and Yoko on David Frost
Time in his new homeland absorbing the causes of the day affected John's music profoundly while simultaneously making him a marked man as far as the Nixon administration was concerned. Weeks after this televised dust-up aired (following a performance of "Attica State," a song that seemingly sided with the inmates during a recent violent uprising), proceedings to boot him from the US were underway. (FFF2, p. 322-323)

10. May 1972: "Mary Had A Little Lamb"
Despite courting controversy himself with the recent "Give Ireland Back To The Irish" single, Paul was reticent about going out too far on a limb. But offerings like this typed him as a lightweight, especially when contrasted with the gravitas of John and George's work. (FFF2, p. 95, 208)

11. December 1972: Born To Boogie
T. Rex was the sensation of the day in Britain during this time. Ringo capitalized on his friendship with Marc Bolan by directing this documentary for Apple Films. Yes, that's Elton John. (FFF2, p. 108-110)

It’s been 11 years since George Harrison died, and since that time, there is even newer history on his impact on the Beatles.
His sister Louise Harrsion understands his role and is quick to point out that he was the first Beatle to come to America to visit her at her Illinois home where they camped out and he played informally at a VFW hall.

FRANK SINATRA LE CANTA A MAUREEN STARKEY : Maureen Is A Champ

www.facebook.com/rarebeatles

MAUREEN IS A CHAMP
There’s no one like her,
But no one at all.
And as for charm
Hers is like, wall to wall.
She married Ringo
And she could have had Paul.
That’s why the lady is a champ.
Creates excitement
Whenever it’s dull.
She just appears
And there goes the lull.
She merely smiles
And you’re out of your skull.
That’s why the lady is a champ.

The folks who do
And don’t meditate
Agree she’s great.
They mean Maureen.
I’ve got more lyrics
Right after this band.
Because the lady is a champ.

Though we’ve not met
I’m convinced she’s a gem.
I’m just F.S.
But to me she’s big M.
Mainly because
She prefers me to them.
That’s why the lady is a champ.

I have lots of fans
Well at least one or two.
But Peter Brown calls me
To tell me it’s true.
She sleeps with Ringo
But she thinks of you.
That’s why the lady is a champ.

But I can boast, boast
As much, as much as I please.
The fact is that’s
She’s his wife
Well that’s life.
But it’s her day
So I whistle and stamp,
Because the lady,
The charming lady,
Mr. Ringo’s lady is a champ.

May I toast you all the way
Lift my glass and softly say
I have thoughts for you this day.
But beautiful thoughts for you
And for your Ringo
That I must express,
With the warm and deep affection
Of F.S.

Would you kindly ask the guys
If they’d grab a glass and rise
‘Cause I think we’d harmonize.
But beautiful
May your birthday
And your birthday candles
Softly gleam and glow.
For that would be
But beautiful I know.

Ravi Shankar Honored in Memorial Service
'Their hearts and minds were intertwined,' says George Harrison's widow

December 21, 2012

About 700 people gathered yesterday in Encinitas, California to say goodbye to world music pioneer and sitar virtuoso Ravi Shankar, Reuters reports. Shankar's daughters, Norah Jones and Anoushka Shankar, and Olivia Harrison, the wife of late Beatles guitarist George Harrison, were among those at the public memorial service. "He completely transformed [George's] musical sensibilities," said Olivia Harrison. "They exchanged ideas and melodies until their hearts and minds were intertwined like a double helix."

In a statement, Peter Gabriel praised Shankar, saying he had "opened the door to non-Western music or millions of people around the world," the BBC notes. Director Martin Scorsese also sent his respects, calling Shankar's music "ancient and immediate, impassioned and meditative, full of sorrow and joy . . . he was a true master."

Ravi Shankar died on December 11th. He was 92.

XMAS UPDATE: Paul Supports New Pro-Vegetarian PETA UK Campaign: 'Celebrate Life'

www.paulmccartney.com

UPDATED: 19th December 2012:

Back in November Paul called on North American fans to consider choosing a turkey replacement on their Thanksgiving plates saying he and the family '...eat a veggie roast at home.'

With Christmas just around the corner we wanted to remind fans that there are several alternatives available for the festive meals. For example, as Christmas Eve falls on a Monday, you may want to consider these three menus options courtesy of Meat Free Mondays.

ORIGINAL POST: 20th Noveber 2012

What is Paul McCartney eating for Thanksgiving dinner this year? Not turkey, that's for sure – and to bring the message home, he’s supporting a brand-new PETA UK campaign, in which he shows off an "Eat No Turkey" T-shirt below the words "Celebrate Life This Holiday Season. Go Vegetarian".
When Paul sat down to record his narration for PETA's video exposé of the meat industry – called "Glass Walls" which included his famous statement, "If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be vegetarian" – he shared what his family eats for the holidays: "We eat a veggie roast at home, so if we have traditional moments like Christmas … the roast is perfect. It's completely vegetarian, but I can slice it, so I can do all my traditional dad things. We can do our family stuff with it, and it's delicious, so I much prefer that to my memory of turkey".

Every year, almost 10 million turkeys are slaughtered in the UK for Christmas dinners alone. In nature, turkeys are protective and loving parents as well as spirited explorers who can climb trees and run as fast as 25 miles per hour. But most turkeys slated to be killed for food are crammed into filthy warehouses, where disease, smothering and heart attacks are common. Turkeys are drugged and bred to grow such unnaturally large upper bodies that their legs often become crippled under the weight.

The "Eat No Turkey" T-shirt is available to purchase HERE!. For more information, including animal-free holiday recipes, please visit PETA.org.uk.
