BEATLES INTERNATIONAL AT BEATLESDAY NETHERLANDS ON 8 APRIL

Hilversum – The release of the legendary Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album on June 1st 1967 will be celebrated during the 33rd International Dutch Beatlesday on 8 April in DE VORSTIN (a theatre) in Hilversum, the Netherlands. Special guest during this day is TONY SHERIDAN. In 1961 the Beatles were his backing band. 

Under the name "Pepper Revisited" five up and coming wil play tracks from the Sgt. Pepper album. This will be broadcast live on local radio by RTV Noord Holland. Dutch DJ Giel Beelen will also focus on this 33rd Beatlesday during his show on the Friday before in his morning programme which airs nationwide. The show is called "Giel" and will be broadcast on music station 3FM.

Special guest at the convention is Tony Sheridan, the British singer who became world famous by recording with the Beatles in 1961 on the Polydor label in Hamburg under supervision of Bert Kaempfert. Sheridan will perform live and of course he will play such classics as "Take Out Some Insurance On Me Baby", "My Bonnie" and "Sweet Georgia Brown". He will also take part in photo shoots and an interview during this day.

You can also enjoy two great shows by Dutch tribute bands One After 909 and Turnwood.

In De Grote Beatles Doordraai Machgiel Bakker will dive into the huge Beatles archive and come up with some special Beatles covers that will be played by Beatles tribute band Love & Mersey.

Of course there will also be a Beatles fair with a huge amount of Beatles music, books, DVDs, magazines and memorabilia. There will be a Beatles Quizz and a four hour film programma will be shown throughout the day.

The 33rd International Beatlesday will take place on Sunday 8 April, this is Eastern, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The event is organised by De Zaak Bakker in collaboration with Beatles Unlimited. Admission for the event is €17,50 per person.

Venue De Vorstin is situated at 5 min. walking distance from Hilversum Central station; address: 44 Koninginneweg, 1211 AS Hilversum. There is plenty of parking space on the market square (Langgewenst), which is immediately to the right behind De Vorstin.
