TUG OF WAR 30TH ANNIVERSARY
Today sees the 30th anniversary of the release of Paul's album Tug Of War. Released through Parlophone on 26th April 1982 the number one album featured the tracks Ebony And Ivory, Tug Of War, Take It Away and live favouriteHere Today, a tribute to John Lennon.
Ebony And Ivory - the lead single from the album was a duet with Stevie Wonder, who also co-wrote the album track What's That You're Doing. Stevie returned to the studio with Paul last year for the Kisses On The Bottom album playing harmonica on Only Our Hearts.
Other notable musicians to appear on the album include Ringo Starr who drummed on Take It Away, legendary guitarist Carl Perkins on Get It and Beatles producer George Martin who contributed electric piano during the sessions as well as producing the album.
