The Beatles, Marilyn Monroe and The Queen as you've never seen them before...on 900 slices of burnt TOAST

This artist has certainly earned his crust - crafting celebrities out slices of burnt TOAST.
Henry Hargreaves charred 900 slices of bread to create each member of the Beatles, a portrait of the Queen and a picture of screen siren Marilyn Monroe.
He meticulously burnt parts of the bread using a creme brulee torch - before laying them out on the floor of his studio in Brooklyn, New York.

Spot on: The artist charred 900 slices of bread to create each member of the Beatles, a portrait of the Queen and screen siren Marilyn Monroe
Henry said: 'I was really happy with the final images - people tell me it's the best thing since sliced bread.
'I just hope I did the boys justice.'
The Beatles fan said he found inspiration for the work after hearing about a piece of half-eaten toast George Harrison left behind while the Beatles toured.

Painstaking: Hargreaves created the unusual artworks at his studio in Brooklyn by burning the slices of bread using a creme brulee torch
He said: 'It sold for an incredible amount at auction and gave me the idea to recreate their iconic portraits using toast.'
Henry crafted the portraits with the help of two pals using an incredible 40 loaves for each image.
He painstakingly cut stencils of the famous faces from reams of tin foil and used these to perfectly burn the bread.
Henry, originally from New Zealand, said: 'One of the things that baffled me when I moved to the US was the bread.

Wacky: The artist used 40 loaves of bread to recreate each image - amounting to a staggering 900 slices
'In New Zealand we have the most terrific selection of breads - but I soon realised Wonderbread is king in America.
'It's legendary for how long it survives without going off. It proved perfect for the toast art, giving me enough time to complete it without it going mouldy.'
Of the fab four, Henry said: 'The Beatles have always been there for me, my parents were big fans.
'They both went to see them as kids in Christchurch in New Zealand many years before they ever met.
'They can do no wrong in my eyes.'

Keen to be in the best shape as he readies what is set to be an epic performance at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee concert in next month, Macca was in high spirits as he made his way to the fitness centre.
The Beatles singer who had a spring in his step could've passed for a man half his age in his causal get-up.
McCartney, 69, wore black tracksuit bottoms with a white T-shirt and a blue hoodie, he also covered up his eyes with a pair of sunglasses.

My Valentine’ Music Video To Be Screened Before ‘The Intouchables’

    www.paulmccartney.com

With his directorial debut Paul has created a moving homage to photographer Irving Penn featuring Natalie Portman and Johnny Depp signing the words to his song ‘My Valentine’.

The video is now set to grace cinema screens in the USA from today appearing before The Weinstein Company’s film ‘The Intouchables’.

Paul told us, “My daughter, Stella, suggested the original idea to have Natalie Portman and Johnny Depp use sign language to portray my recent song, My Valentine. When I showed the finished film to Harvey, he suggested that it could be shown before one of the films he was releasing this year. It was very kind of him to suggest this and I’m excited to hear that it will be shown at many cinemas before his new release, The Intouchables. Harvey has been a great friend for many years and I hope he’ll remain so for many years to come.”

Harvey Weinstein said, “What an honor it is to have Paul’s short film directorial debut on the head of our INTOUCHABLES showings. Paul and Stella are great old friends. He was the first musician to say yes to perform at the 9/11 concert for New York, which I produced along with our friends John Sykes and Jim Dolan. Stella had a wonderful idea when she thought this song would translate well into a film, and I can’t wait to share it with our audiences when THE INTOUCHABLES comes out on May 25.”

Fan can check out the trailer for ‘The Intouchables’, and the video for ‘My Valentine’ below.
