Paul McCartney set for VE Day concert in London

Elton John, Paul McCartney and Rod Stewart will headline a special concert celebrating the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, aka VE Day. 

The gig will be 1940s-themed and it will commemorate the end of the Second World War in 1945. 

It will be held at London's Horse Guards Parade on May 9. 

Dame Vera Lynn, a wartime singer who is 97, will also appear during the event, which will live-broadcast in the UK. 

We love events with historical richness placed in a modern context. It truly gets the kids who are fans of these artists to think, to remember and to work to make sure certain events in history do not repeat themselves. 

VE Day will be marked over the course of the three days in May, with parades and shows being held in the streets.
