Niagara Falls, ON - On Wednesday, July 13, RockMusicStar was cordially invited to attend the press conference, at the Fallsview Casino, Canada, for Ringo Starr's All 'Starr' Band tour - which launches tomorrow (July 14) at the same venue where the press conference was being held.
Doing just under 30 dates, this tour is the 13th installment of Ringo's All Starr gatherings. This time around, Ringo has brought back previous years alumni Richard Page (Mr. Mister), Todd Rundgren, Mark Rivera (Foreigner & Billy Joel), and Greg Bissonette (David Lee Roth band), and has added Steve Lukather (Toto) and Greg Rollie (Santana & Journey) to the lineup.
Approximately 30 members of the press and some lucky contest winners had the opportunity to get a sneak peak of basically a live rehearsal, where the band played snippets of some of the hit songs they will be performing throughout the tour. It was rather surreal to be part of such a small gathering of people, inside a large, state-of-the-art 1,500 seat theater, with the band performing at full volume, with the complete stage production.
After the short jam, the entire band did a photo op and then stayed for a Q&A session that lasted almost 30 minutes. With most questions directed towards Ringo, RockMusicStar's very own Thomas S. Orwat Jr. had the opportunity to pose a question to the group. Thomas asked Ringo, and the band, what was involved with the selection of this year's lineup and if there was any type of audition process required to become an "All Starr." To see and hear Ringo's response, watch our exclusive press conference video filmed by John Jeffrey, below.
