SIR Paul McCartney is having trouble finding his feet on stage — despite performing for over 50 years.
The music legend, 69, fell down stairs while leaving the stage after a gig in Liverpool.
But ex-Beatle Sir Paul "just dusted himself down".
A source said: "He's not accident-prone so it's unusual for him to be clumsy. He saw the funny side."
It was the second time this year Macca has taken a tumble at the end of a gig, having had similar problems with steps in Brazil.
His latest slip came after playing at Liverpool's Echo Arena, where fans included comic Peter Kay.
Peter, who had seen a Macca gig the previous night in Manchester, joked he had been "abusing his celebrity status" by grabbing tickets.
He was seen at the MEN Arena with his arm around JK Rowling singing Macca's festive hit Wonderful Christmas Time.
A select few were given the opportunity to hear to Macca's new track My Valentine backstage on Tuesday.
Eric Clapton, 66, plays guitar on the song which features on Macca's new currently untitled album which is released on February 6.
It's one of two brand new Macca compositions that feature alongside covers of his favourite ever songs.
