Paul McCartney joined sports fans at the Olympic Park on Sunday (July 29) as he watched the USA beat France 98-71.

The former Beatle was spotted wearing a baseball cap and dark glasses leaving the basketball arena with his wife Nancy Shevell.

In a clearly jovial mood, McCartney and Shevell walked away hand in hand and played a joke on an unsuspecting volunteer after they formed an arch with their arms for her to walk through.

McCartney was one of the highlights of the Opening Ceremony on Friday night, as he got the crowds in the stadium singing Hey Jude.
