The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced its nominees for the 2012 Emmy Awards, and George Harrison: Living in the Material World was honoured with a total of 6 nominations!

The film was nominated for:

• Outstanding Cinematography For Nonfiction Programming
• Outstanding Directing For Nonfiction Programming (Martin Scorsese)
• Outstanding Picture Editing For Nonfiction Programming
• Outstanding Sound Editing For Nonfiction Programming (Single or Multi-Camera)
• Outstanding Sound Mixing For Nonfiction Programming

The Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards will be announced on Saturday, September 15.
