John Lennon’s 75th birthday on Friday, October 9, 2015 will be celebrated all over the globe. Here is a recap of the events, as well as an update with new information just received. The list includes Seattle’s "John Lennon Jam" in Bellevue, Washington, John’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star in Hollywood, the "Imagine 75" concert in New Haven, Connecticut, the 35th Annual John Lennon Tribute in New York, and the BBC Radio 2 broadcast.
Yoko Ono posted a message she would be present October 9 to light the Imagine Peace Tower in Reykjavik, Iceland, on the island of Vioey. She said, “Please ask all your friends to join us by Tweeting wishes to Imagine Peace Tower.” You can also send wishes by post to: Imagine Peace Tower, PO Box 1009,121 Reykjavik, Iceland, email, or Facebook. She continued, “I hope the Imagine Peace Tower will give light to the strong wishes of World Peace from all corners of the planet. And give encouragement, inspiration and a sense of solidarity in a world now filled with fear and confusion. Let us come together to realize a peaceful world.”

Also, today, October 6, 2015, Yoko Ono lead a gathering in Central Park hoping to create the world's largest peace sign in honor of her late husband's birthday. Thousands of fans attended to create the peace sign, but it did not achieve the world record.

"John Lennon Jam"concerts in Bellevue and Seattle
John Lennon Jam: Seattle tribute band Apple Jam will perform two “John Lennon Jam” concerts on October 9 at Bake’s Place in Bellevue, Washington, at 7:00 and 9:45pm. They will also do a show at the Triple Door in Seattle on December 8, the anniversary of John’s death. Featuring Rick Lovrovich of the Beatniks, Johnny Jones, Josh Jones, and others, Apple Jam is world-renowned and this year marks their own 10th anniversary since the first John Lennon Jam.

John Lennon Hollywood Walk of Fame Star
Hollywood Walk of Fame: A celebration will be held at John Lennon’s Walk of Fame Star in front of the Capitol Records building in Hollywood at 6:00pm October 9. Fans will bring flowers and candles, performers will sing tributes in John’s honor. The latest update is that performance artist Gregory Adamson will be creating a large John Lennon mural. Lesley Perdomo will be doing a sidewalk chalk art portrait of Lennon flashing a peace symbol beginning at noon. Shayne Dalva will open the event with “Imagine.” Also, a large 'John Lennon Birthday Card' will be displayed for fans to sign. The card will be sent to Yoko Ono.

BBC Radio 2 broadcast of 'John Lennon's Last Day'
“John Lennon’s Last Day”, a dramatic monologue about Lennon’s last day will be broadcast on BBC Radio 2, October 8, 2015 from 10-11:00pm BST (2pm PST, 5pm ET.) Written by Irish playwright Stephen Kennedy, the show is part narration (Ian Hart) and part recordings of John Lennon’s actual interviews and songs.

Remember Lennon: Imagine 75 concert
“Remember Lennon: Imagine 75" Tribute Concert Event: Peter Gendron, world-renowned Lennon impersonator, will star in this concert for Beatles fans at the newly-renovated College Street Music Hall, 238 College Street in downtown New Haven, Connecticut. Tickets are $35-$50; doors open at 7pm and show-time is 8pm. Gendron will sing the full range of Lennon’s songs, from the Beatles and solo catalogs, including ‘Twist and Shout’, ‘Power to the People’, ‘Imagine’, and “Whatever Gets You Through the Night.’

35th annual John Lennon Tribute
The 35th Annual John Lennon Tribute by Theatre Within will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Symphony Space, New York. Tickets can be purchased here. Many performers are slated to perform in this longest-running annual concert for John, including Rich Pagano of the Fab Faux. Proceeds from the Tribute help fund The John Lennon Real Love Project. Organizers wrote, “This visionary mobile songwriting program brings the healing power of John Lennon’s songs and creative expression to teens whose families have been impacted by cancer at Gilda’s Club NYC.”
