The concert poster, measuring 30 inches by 20 inches, was created to promote a lunchtime show at the Cavern Club on November 30, 1962. Christie's stated in the auction description that it's the earliest Beatles concert poster they have ever offered. It may also be one of the rarest.
Why's It Rare?
According to Christie's listing, the poster had been hand-painted specifically for the lunchtime concert, adding; "This is the only known copy of this poster. Posters from this period in the Beatles' history are exceptionally rare and only a handful of posters documenting their appearances at the Cavern Club are known to be in existence."
The Beatles Cavern Club History
The Beatles performed their first lunchtime show at the Cavern Club on February 9, 1961. Sources state they made a total of 292 appearances at the club before performing their last show on August 3, 1963.
Reportedly, Brian Epstein once promised the club's owners they (The Beatles) would return someday. But after "Beatlemania" took-off, the small club could no longer fulfill the needs of the audience's size.

Beatles Memorabilia Staying Hot
Beatles items continue to be hot. In April (2012), we reported an fully-signed early record had fetched $24,675, and a rare promotional demo (record) collected $19,586. Both were on eBay.
Then in May, The Guardian reported The Beatles famed 'Backwards' Abbey Road photograph had sold for $25,000 (£16,000).
