While Paul McCartney will reportedly spend his 70th birthday quietly, his fans certainly won't. There are events and happenings planned all around the world.
Here are as many of them as we could find. We'll update this list as much as possible.
Magazines:
Time Magazine special issue: Features McCartney's 70-year life and career: what drives him (still at 70…he can’t stop performing!), his marriages, his sometimes tumultuous relationship with John Lennon etc. At newsstands and supermarkets in softcover or in hardcover by mail.
USA Today Special Beatles issue: This isn't just about Paul McCartney, but it comes on the heels of their recent story in the paper. This is the standalone. It's available at http://onlinestore.usatoday.com/the-beatles-p16429.aspx.
Music tribute:
Cover track: Paul Weller has recorded a cover of The Beatles’ track ‘Birthday’ to celebrate Paul’s birthday. The track will be available only on June 18 through iTunes and other major digital music retailers. All proceeds from the song will go to the War Child charity. (Thanks to Jeremy.)
Events:
Birthday card at Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame: The Rock Hall of Fame is featuring a birthday card for McCartney this weekend. It'll be sent to him after the weekend. Details: http://www.examiner.com/article/
PETA's birthday tribute: Noon June 18, Franklin Square, at the intersection of K Street N.W. and 13th Street N.W., Washington, D.C. Will feature a giant birthday card showing costumed animals crossing Abbey Road, which passersby can sign. PETA members will serve vegan confections and give away copies of McCartney's "Glass Walls" DVD on animal cruelty."I've often said, 'If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be vegetarian,'" McCartney has said.
Hollywood Walk of Fame (NEW!):  Free public celebration from 6 to 8 p.m. June 18 at McCartney's Hollywood Walk of Fame Star located in front of the Capitol Records Tower Building at 1750 N. Vine Street. Fans are invited to bring potluck birthday cakes and other birthday goodies to share. Fans are also invited to perform McCartney and Beatles tunes at the celebration.

Fab4Free4All: The three hosts will appear at at a special event from 7-11 p.m. June 16 celebrating Paul McCartney’s 70th birthday at Great Neck Arts Center, 113 Middle Neck Road, Great Neck, NY. Featured will be the tribute band MerseyBeat, a lecture and presentation from the FabFree4All hosts and a Beatles record & memorabilia collectors show.
