Paul Weller covers ‘Birthday’ for charity
Paul Weller has recorded a cover of The Beatles’ track ‘Birthday’ to celebrate Paul’s birthday on Monday.
The track will be available to buy in the UK and Ireland on Monday 18th June for one day only through iTunes and other major digital music retailers, so don’t forget to set a reminder! All proceeds from the song will go to the War Child charity.
Fans may recall that the two Pauls worked together in 1995 recording a cover of ‘Come Together’ under the name Smokin Mojo Filters. The supergroup also featured Noel Gallagher, Steve Craddock, Steve White and Carleen Anderson.
During Paul’s recent Teenage Cancer Trust gig at the Royal Albert Hall Paul Weller joined Paul onstage, along with Ronnie Wood and Roger Daltrey, to perform The Beatles’ classic ‘Get Back’.
