"Pisa el suelo con pies descalzos", "Recuerda", "Reconstruye" son solo algunas de las instrucciones que la artista japonesa Yoko Ono ha ido elaborando en sus 60 años de trayectoria y que se exhiben desde este fin de semana en Lima en la muestra de sus obras de arte "Universo libre".

Con la curaduría del noruego Gunnar B. Kvaran y el español Agustín Pérez Rubio, las salas de Proyecto AMIL se nutren de textos sueltos o acompañados, objetos, videoarte y grabaciones de sonido que recrean el universo político, ecologista y feminista de Ono.

"Las instrucciones son textos que se asemejan a la poesía, pero que realmente son invitaciones al público para hacer la obra en la cabeza o a través de los objetos", señaló a Efe Pérez Rubio.

"Universo libre" es una muestra e investigación única en su tipo que ha sido desarrollada por Pérez Rubio y Kvaran, junto a la propia artista, "en un momento donde el capitalismo es tan feroz y todo viene arreglado con lo financiero. Para gritar que el universo debería ser como el arte libre, para todo el mundo".

With the curatorship of the Norwegian Gunnar B. Kvaran and the Spanish Agustín Pérez Rubio, the AMIL Project rooms are nourished by single or accompanied texts, objects, video art and sound recordings that recreate the political, ecological and feminist universe of Ono.

"The instructions are texts that resemble poetry, but they are really invitations to the public to do the work in the head or through the objects," Pérez Rubio told Efe.


"Universe Free" is a unique exhibition and research that has been developed by Pérez Rubio and Kvaran, together with the artist herself, "at a time when capitalism is so fierce and everything is arranged with the financial. the universe should be like free art, for the whole world. "

Nacida en Tokio en 1933, Ono se consolidó en el arte contemporáneo por su mirada visionaria sobre el arte, el mismo que compartió con el movimiento Fluxus, de la que fue miembro y que tuvo picos de actividad entre la década de 1960 y 1970.

No obstante, sus obras tomaron mayores dimensiones mediáticas tras su matrimonio con el artista y músico John Lennon, miembro de The Beatles.

"Hubo un trabajo conjunto con Lennon, pero que incluso en este tiempo reflejaba ya una continuidad del trabajo artístico que ya venía desarrollando Ono, incluso desde antes", apuntó Pérez Rubio hoy durante la presentación de la muestra a la prensa.

"Ella siempre estuvo un paso adelante, porque ahora que hablamos de proyectos artísticos colaborativos vemos cómo es que ella es realmente una de las primeras artistas que trabaja con la participación del público. Donde el arte no lo hace el artista, lo hace el otro" agregó.

Asimismo, sus trabajos de los años 1950 y 1960 tocan temas tan actuales como el feminismo, el ecologismo y la no violencia.

"Todo su trabajo, tanto el artístico como el musical tiene que ver con esos valores. Por eso es tan importante tanto en lo artístico, como en lo político y lo cultural", aseveró el curador.

La muestra, que reúne 60 piezas seleccionadas por la artista japonesa, se exhibirá en Lima hasta el 16 de febrero próximo en el centro comercial Camino Real del residencial barrio limeño de San Isidro.


Born in Tokyo in 1933, Ono was consolidated in contemporary art for his visionary vision of art, the same he shared with the Fluxus movement, of which he was a member and which had peaks of activity between the 1960s and 1970s.

However, his works took on greater media dimensions after his marriage to the artist and musician John Lennon, member of The Beatles.

"There was a joint effort with Lennon, but even at this time it reflected a continuity of the artistic work that Ono had been developing, even before," said Pérez Rubio today during the presentation of the exhibition to the press.

"She was always one step ahead, because now that we talk about collaborative artistic projects we see how she is really one of the first artists that works with the participation of the public, where art does not make the artist, the other does it" he added.

Likewise, his works of the 1950s and 1960s touch upon such current issues as feminism, environmentalism and nonviolence.

"All his work, both artistic and musical, has to do with these values, which is why he is so important in the artistic, political and cultural fields," the curator said.


The exhibition, which brings together 60 pieces selected by the Japanese artist, will be exhibited in Lima until February 16 at the Camino Real shopping center in the residential district of San Isidro in Lima.
