After six consecutive weeks at the top of TicketNews® ' exclusive event rankings, "The Book of Mormon" has finally been dethroned.
The former Beatle Paul McCartney took over the top events rankings this week after four concert dates went on sale to the public Friday, September 14. The shows scheduled for Houston and Edmonton were announced a week prior, resulting in a total of five shows scheduled across North America this November. The performances will kick off on November 11 at the Scottrade Center in Saint Louis, Missouri.
These dates are an extension of the singer's record-breaking On The Run Tour which has started off back in July of 2011 in Yankee Stadium. McCartney continues to sell out performances across the globe and due to his continuous success he recently landed the title of Richest Lead Singer in the world by CelebrityNetWorth.com, as reported by Contactmusic.com.
While McCartney easily took over this week's rankings, "The Book of Mormon" didn't fall more than the one spot, with a large margin over fellow Broadway show "Wicked" in the third position. However, there was quite a few newcomers debuting further down the list this week.
Holiday fan favorite, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, jumps onto the list this week with a strong showing in the sixth spot. Tickets sales for The Lost Christmas Eve began this past weekend.
Switching things up this week we find TLC's Long Island Medium, Theresa Caputo, in the eighth spot as she prepares for a 19-date tour across the United States starting this October. Fans have helps push this television star ahead of plenty of other big name sports teams, musicians, and shows including American punk band, Green Day.
Green Day sneaks into the top 10 this week in the No. 9 spot after tickets sales began for their ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré! Tour. The tour, which is scheduled in conjunction with the release of a three album series of the same name, will kick off on November 26 in Seattle, WA and run until February 8.
