Yoko Ono confirms John Lennon was considering doing Beatle classics in live shows

When we reported Producer says John Lennon had plans to perform Beatle classics on tour, there were several comments (one by us) that wished another source would confirm it.

We decided to ask Yoko Ono, who answers selected questions submitted to her on Twitter with the #yokoQandA tag on her website each Friday.

Our question was "Is it true you and John planned to do live shows and he rehearsed 'She Loves You' and 'I Want to Hold Your Hand'?"

Here's her answer as posted on her website:

I don’t remember if he was thinking of doing “SHE LOVES YOU.” He definitely was thinking of doing “I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND.” but who knows. He may have changed his mind at the last minute. Don’t count on anything in life. Just enjoy as it happens.

The fact he was thinking about doing these songs on one hand is very sad, since it didn't happen. But on the other hand, it's very happy news. Imagine him doing them. His performances would have been wonderful.
