ROCKER Sir Paul McCartney has dreams of a Beatles reunion - but admits the fantasy gigs always end up in disaster.

The music legend, 76, says he often fantasises about reuniting onstage with Ringo Starr and the late John Lennon and George Harrison, although the performances never go to plan.

He said: “We’re playing a dreadful gig somewhere, and the audience are walking out.  That happens a lot.

“But it’s kinda nice – I get to meet John and George. So that’s kinda good.”

During the height of the Beatles' success, the band were known for their hedonistic lifestyles while on the road.

And while Paul still tours quite regularly, he takes things a little easier.

He added: “I did used to get a little bit more crazy than I do now.

"I’ve got eight grandchildren – I haven’t got the time.

“Grandad can’t just be sitting in his armchair with a great big doobie on and a bottle of tequila.

“Consequently, you are happy. It’s really cool to hear a robin singing, see a stream rushing down a mountain.

“It’s good to take time for those things, too. That’s more how I am now.”

Sir Paul has become one of the richest people in Britain - and the wealthiest man in music.

According to The Sunday Times Rich List - which was released earlier this year - Paul has a net worth of £820million.

That places him at number one in the list of the top 10 wealthiest musicians, beating Andrew Lloyd-Webber, who has a £740m fortune and U2, who are worth a combined £569m.
