Long-time school educator and self-proclaimed Beatles fanatic, Sean Gaillard, has just released The Pepper Effect, a new book that talks about how the band's secrets to success and creative collaboration can be applied not only in the schoolhouse, but to life.

"The creative and collaborative legacy of The Beatles does resonate in education," said Gaillard. "I wanted to share their inspirational story and describe how educators can transform a schoolhouse into a masterpiece as The Beatles did."

The Beatles' fabled Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album, often considered their creative zenith, celebrated its 50th anniversary last year. The historic moment inspired Gaillard to conceive of (with a little help from his friends) a radio show called "The Pepper Mindset", a seed idea which became the framework for the book.

"There are many lessons in creativity, collaboration and innovation that educators can take from The Beatles," he explained. "Inspiring students to create a masterpiece on the level of Sgt. Pepper is one of many riffs I share in The Pepper Effect. I hope that readers can emulate those lessons from The Beatles to serve and support our kids in the schoolhouse."

With over 20 years' worth of experience in education, both as a teacher and school administrator, Gaillard has contributed various writings for Education Week, "PBS News Hour Extra," and "Education Closet." His contributions have also been featured in various books on school leadership and music, and on his blog, Principal Liner Notes.

Currently the principal at Lexington Middle School in North Carolina, Gaillard has presented at various conferences including ISTE and the National School Board Association Conference. He is also the founder of the Twitter hashtag, #CelebrateMonday, a school culture movement that celebrates positivity in the schoolhouse. When he's not in the schoolhouse or writing, he's browsing used record stores.

The Pepper Effect is published by Dave Burgess Consulting, Inc. and available for purchase on Amazon. You can connect with Sean Gaillard on social media on Twitter and Instagram at @smgaillard.
