Bang! The Bert Berns Story relates the life an work of the relatively unknown but hugely influential songwriter and producer, whose hits include “Twist and Shout”, “Hang on Sloopy”, “Brown Eyed Girl”, “Here Comes the Night” and “Piece of My Heart,” and who was instrumental in launching the careers of Van Morrison and Neil Diamond. Directed by Berns’s son Brett and Bob Sarles, the film features recollections from Morrison, Ronald Isley, Ben E. King, Solomon Burke, Keith Richards, and Paul McCartney, who in a just-released clip talks about the importance of “Twist and Shout” to the Beatles’ career.
