Sir Paul McCartney wowed crowds at the Yas Arena last night with an energetic performance that belied his 69 years. The living legend produced a set that lasted almost three hours – including two encores. McCartney performed solo classics such as ‘Band on the Run’ and ‘Jet’, along with Beatles hits including ‘Hey Jude’ and ‘Back in the USSR’. Sir Paul engaged the crowd throughout, ending several songs with ‘Shukran’ and congratulating Lewis Hamilton on his Abu Dhabi Grand Prix victory. The most successful man in rock n’ roll history then blew away a huge Yas crowd with a rendition of ‘Live and Let Die’, which ended with fireworks spewing from the arena roof, before launching into singalong classic ‘Yesterday’.
