Sir Paul McCartney has said he will perform at the London Olympics opening ceremony and the former Beatle is rumoured to be also playing at the closing show. His daughter Stella, meanwhile, has designed Team GB’s kit.
Happily, his oldest daughter, Mary, will have a runners-up prize. “I’ve done a picture for the Photographers’ Gallery,” she tells Mandrake. The picture will be part of an outdoor exhibition celebrating London 2012.
Mary, a distinguished snapper, was speaking at the premiere of Comes a Bright Day, the debut feature film written and directed by her husband, Simon Aboud. “I am a very, very proud wife,” she says.
